ABOUT ME
FIRE DRILL IN MY SCHOOL
Last Thursday, my school had a fire drill. That morning, we start our learning sessions as usual. As soon as the first session of the morning session ended, the school bell rang in a relatively long period. At first, I was rather surprised when I heard the bell ringing endlessly and I didn't expect that the bell sound was a sign when there was a real fire or fire drill. Then, when I heard my teacher say that it was a fire drill, my friend and I quickly went out of the class and went to the school square. At the school square, I see some firemen talking to the principal and also some teachers. I also saw a fire engine there.
Actually, it was really excited when I saw the fire engine and firemen gathered at my school although it's not my first time saw the fire engine. A few minutes later, when the situation became calmer, one of the firemen who came to my school told us how to escape when the fire broke out. After a fireman explained a few things that related with fire, the firemen show to us how to extinguish the fire. When a fireman lighted a fire, honestly, I felt a bit scared and maybe I had a phobia with fire because a couple of months ago, my house was burnt down. So, it was a bit scared for me when I saw the red fire as well as the black smoke that was floating in the air. After show the way to extinguish the fire, they gave us the chances to try extinguish the fire using many type of fire extinguisher. Four teachers and two students were chosen to extinguish the fire. All of them could extinguish the fire but the first student that tried to extinguished the fire had a bit of a problem where he couldn't put out the fire completely because there was a little fire that was hidden by the tank that we used to show the way to extinguish the fire. Not only him that couldn't extinguish the fire, but there was a female teacher experiencing the same thing where she couldn't extinguished the fire completely because she extinguished the fire wrong way. After the fire drill session ended, all students were allowed to return to their classes.
Yeah, maybe it's just a 'fire drill' but for me even though it's just a training, we should always be aware of our surrounding because just like I said earlier, when I heard the school bell ringing endlessly, I still didn't realize that it's actually an emergency bell ringing. Untill my teacher said that it's actually a fire bell ringing, I quickly ran out of the school building.
Can you imagine what would've happened to me, or to you, if this thing happened to us? Maybe we could've died if we didn't take action. So, think carefully and wisely. Always be aware of your surrounding.
That's all from me for now. Bye!😊✌
